静脈栄養法について。。。

中心静脈栄養法（CPN）と末梢静脈栄養法（PPN）についてお尋ねします。
CPNでは高濃度の糖分やその他必要な栄養素のすべての輸液が可能で
PPNでは糖分は浸透圧が高く静脈炎を起こすため低濃度のものしか注入できないとありました。
どうして濃度によって注入の可否がでてきてしまうのでしょうか？
中心静脈は太く、高濃度を注入してもすぐに薄れてしまうからですか？
もしそうなら、低濃度のものを長時間注入することで問題は…
