同居していた親の医療費控除について

去年の夏に施設に入るまで、入院していた母親の医療費を自分のと合わせて医療費控除申告しようと思っていますが、当時同居していた証明書類は必要ですか？
母は年金収入もなく子供たちで医療費を出し合っていました。生計を共にする親族には間違いないのですが、こちらも証明書類は必要でしょうか？
