任意継続保険料の滞納による資格喪失

任意継続被保険者です。１０日の納付期限をうっかり忘れてしまい、保険料を滞納してしまいました。納付書には、納付期日を過ぎると資格喪失となると記載してありました。本当に資格喪してしまうのでしょうか。喪失しない何か方法はあるのでしょうか。教えてください。
