口唇ヘルペスと性器ヘルペスについて

数年前、恋人に口唇ヘルペスをうつされてしまいました。
たまに再発しますが、一番最近再発したのが約半年～1年前です。
数日前、陰部に痛みがあり病院に行ったのですが、性器ヘルペス(2型)だと診断されました。
そこで質問なのですが、口唇ヘルペスが再発している状態でなくても、性器にうつるというか発症することはあるのでしょうか?
一応ここ数ヶ月、性行為はありません。…
