点滴について

こんばんは。
この間患者さんに点滴を行う際、過って中枢から末梢方向に針を刺し点滴を流してしまいました。後で気づいたのですがほんと初歩的なミスをしてしまいました。あのまま血液の流れとは逆に点滴が流れ続けたらどうなりますか？教えてください。
